Backgroundj2m Solutions is located in the greater metropolitan area of Portland, Oregon. This allows for easy access to all three northwest states; Oregon, Washington and Idaho. The founder and principal is Mr. John M. Mertlich. Mr. Mertlich is a 30 year IT, manufacturing, and distribution management professional. He has had a wide range of manufacturing and distribution experience that includes Traffic/Distribution Manager, Customer Service Manager, Materials Manager, Director of Supply Chain, Director of Information Technology, and Director of Manufacturing. He has had experience in setting up line and staff functions in startup companies and he has served in senior management roles in larger organizations. He has been a speaker and a presenter at conferences and seminars on the use of IT tools in manufacturing. Mr. Mertlich has been involved in implementing MRP/ERP systems in and throughout North America and has traveled to South America and Asia in consulting, coordinating and managing the implementation of manufacturing ERP systems. He has been a facilitator for change throughout his career. Mr. Mertlich holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Portland State University with emphasis in Physical Distribution and Transportation Law.

John C. Meldrum (2007) John Mertlich worked both with, and for, me from 1996 through 2004 during the period of time when I was VP Finance/ CFO for VXI Electronics and it's succeeding corporate owner, Celestica, Inc. Our first experience together occurred because it became necessary for VXI to drop it's ERP system, which it had been operating under license from the spin-off's predecessor company. When we decided to convert to new ERP software, John was the point person for the Northwest distributor, basically being solely responsible for a very quick and seamless conversion. We successfully implemented a completely new fully-functional ERP system in less than four weeks, due, more than anything else, to John's expertise, project management skill, dedication and leadership. As it turned out, our need for a Director of IT coincided with his desire to spend less time on the road, so he accepted our offer to join VXI. It proved to be, without a doubt, one of the very best hires that I made in my thirty plus years of management experience. Professional and well organized project manager, leader, both team and results-oriented, dedicated, great attitude......all descriptions which apply to the full term of my experience with him.
