John Mertlich worked both with, and for, me from 1996 through 2004 during the period of time when I was VP Finance/ CFO for VXI Electronics and it's succeeding corporate owner, Celestica, Inc.

Our first experience together occurred because it became necessary for VXI to drop it's ERP system, which it had been operating under license from the spin-off's predecessor company. When we decided to convert to new ERP software, John was the point person for the Northwest distributor, basically being solely responsible for a very quick and seamless conversion. We successfully implemented a completely new fully-functional ERP system in less than four weeks, due, more than anything else, to John's expertise, project management skill, dedication and leadership.

As it turned out, our need for a Director of IT coincided with his desire to spend less time on the road, so he accepted our offer to join VXI. It proved to be, without a doubt, one of the very best hires that I made in my thirty plus years of management experience. I honestly don’t think we could have successfully gone live with xTuple without Mert.  He brought a real passion to facilitating our transfer from our current ERP to xTuple.  Mert took the time to learn how our business works and made invaluable suggestions on how we could use xTuple to improve our day-to-day functions.
